Dollarama is hiring a Technician, IT Equipment Configuration in Mont-Royal, QC, on the island of Montreal. The technician prepares and configures the IT equipment that goes to Dollarama stores for openings, renovations and repairs, so it is a good fit for someone with an IT diploma who likes hands-on technical work.

ABOUT THE JOB

According to Dollarama’s posting, the IT Equipment Configuration Technician reports to the Team Lead, Equipment Configuration. The role covers configuring IT equipment for store openings, renovations and repairs, including troubleshooting, handling the RMA process and performing software updates. The technician also checks the quality of the items and equipment sent to stores, acts as a point of contact with service providers and makes sure all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install and configure software, tools and applications on IT equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues, and document the actions taken in the ticketing system.
  • Manage the RMA (return merchandise authorization) process for defective equipment.
  • Perform software and hardware updates to keep systems performing well and secure.
  • Track and follow up on repair orders with vendors.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A diploma, AEC or DEC in IT, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of integrated management systems is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of ServiceNow is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities effectively.
  • Ability to multitask and handle several projects at the same time.
  • Independent, detail-oriented and focused on quality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new solutions or equipment introduced in stores.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment (distribution centre).
  • A team player with strong collaboration skills.
  • A strong customer service orientation.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
