Amazon Jobs in Canada: Common Roles, Pay Information and How to Apply
Amazon is one of the largest employers in Canada, with fulfilment centres, sortation centres and delivery stations in several provinces, as well as corporate and technology offices. Because Amazon hires in very different ways depending on the type of job, the first step is knowing which website to use. This guide explains the main types of Amazon jobs in Canada, what the company says about pay and benefits, and how to apply.
Three Ways Amazon Hires in Canada
| Type of work | Where to apply | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Warehouse and operations jobs (hourly) | hiring.amazon.ca | Fulfilment centres, sortation centres and delivery stations. Pay and shifts are shown in each posting. |
| Delivering packages with your own vehicle | flex.amazon.ca (Amazon Flex) | Drivers work as independent contractors and choose their delivery blocks. |
| Corporate, technology and AWS jobs | amazon.jobs | Roles such as software development, cloud, sales and operations management. |
Warehouse and Operations Jobs
Most entry-level Amazon jobs in Canada are hourly roles in its operations network. On hiring.amazon.ca they are usually listed as warehouse associate positions, for example at an Amazon fulfilment centre. Typical tasks include:
- Picking items for customer orders
- Packing orders and preparing them for shipping
- Receiving and stowing new inventory
- Sorting packages by delivery route at sortation centres and delivery stations
- Using handheld scanners and following safety procedures throughout the shift
Warehouse work is physical and involves standing, walking and handling packages for most of the shift. Each posting lists its own physical requirements, so read them carefully before you apply.
Schedules
Amazon fulfilment centre postings in Canada describe fixed full-time schedules, with day or overnight shift options that usually include at least one weekend day. Some sites also hire part-time and seasonal staff, especially before the holiday season. The schedule offered for each job is always shown in its posting.
Pay
In September 2026 Amazon announced that the average hourly base wage for its Canadian operations employees would rise to $26.27 from September 27, 2026, up from $25.27 in 2025 (as reported by The Canadian Press). This is a national average, not the starting rate for every job: pay depends on the location, the role, the schedule and how long you have worked there. Amazon also says that eligible hourly employees receive planned pay increases every six months until their two-year anniversary, with another increase at 36 months. The exact rate for a job is listed in its posting on hiring.amazon.ca.
Benefits
Amazon’s Canadian job postings say that its benefits can include health care starting on day one, employee discounts, an RRSP match and paid time off, and that the benefits you receive depend on the role you choose. For regular full-time operations employees, Amazon lists extended health, dental and vision coverage and an RRSP savings plan with an employer match, starting on the first day of employment. From October 1, 2026, eligible employees in Canada also receive a 10% discount on eligible grocery and daily essentials purchases on Amazon.ca.
Delivery Jobs
There are two different ways to deliver Amazon packages, and neither of them is an hourly warehouse job:
- Amazon Flex – you deliver packages with your own vehicle, choose delivery blocks in the Amazon Flex app and work as an independent contractor. The Amazon Flex Canada website says that most drivers earn between $22 and $27 an hour, subject to the conditions explained on that site.
- Delivery Service Partners – many delivery drivers are employed by independent delivery companies that work with Amazon. In that case your employer is the delivery company, not Amazon, and pay and benefits are set by that company.
Corporate and Technology Jobs
Amazon also hires in Canada for corporate, technology and Amazon Web Services (AWS) roles, such as software development, cloud solutions, sales and account management. These positions are listed on amazon.jobs, where you can filter by location to see the openings in Canada. They usually require relevant education or professional experience, and the hiring process can include online assessments and several interviews.
Who These Jobs Suit
- People looking for full-time hourly work with a fixed schedule
- Students and others who can work evenings, nights or weekends
- Drivers with their own vehicle who want to choose their delivery hours (Amazon Flex)
- Professionals in technology, sales or operations looking for a corporate role

- Read the location, schedule and physical requirements in the posting before you apply.
- Keep your contact details up to date and check your email and phone regularly after applying.
