ABOUT THE JOB
The Member Service Assistant at Costco plays an important role in ensuring members have a smooth and positive experience while entering and exiting the warehouse. This role includes verifying membership cards, assisting members with questions, maintaining entrance and exit procedures, and supporting safety and security checks throughout the warehouse. The position requires excellent customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a busy retail environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome members as they enter the warehouse and verify valid membership cards.
- Provide friendly and professional member service while assisting with general inquiries.
- Maintain entrance and exit areas, ensuring they remain clean and organized.
- Count and monitor the number of members entering the warehouse when required.
- Perform safety and security checks around the warehouse and report issues to management.
- Verify purchase receipts at the exit door and thank members as they leave the warehouse.
- Assist members with directions to departments, products, or services within the warehouse.
- Observe and report suspicious activity or safety concerns to warehouse management.
- Support other operational tasks such as cart assistance, basic warehouse support, and helping maintain order in member areas.
- Assist other departments when additional operational support is required.
