ABOUT THE JOB
The Pharmacy Clerk at Costco assists pharmacists and pharmacy staff with the daily operations of the pharmacy department. This includes helping patients at the counter, processing prescription transactions, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate pharmacy records.
This role also involves assisting with prescription preparation tasks permitted by provincial regulations, stocking medications and supplies, and supporting pharmacy administration. The position requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and confidentiality when handling patient information.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist patients at the pharmacy counter and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Receive and retrieve prescriptions while helping manage prescription pickup and patient inquiries.
- Process cash register transactions and handle payments following pharmacy procedures.
- Support pharmacists by entering prescription information and updating patient profiles within pharmacy systems.
- Assist with prescription preparation tasks permitted under provincial regulations.
- Maintain inventory by ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and pharmacy supplies.
- Prepare invoices and assist with third-party insurance claims and pharmacy documentation.
- Ensure the pharmacy area remains clean and organized through regular maintenance tasks.
- Follow all pharmacy safety procedures and confidentiality standards.
- Provide support in other warehouse areas when operational needs require additional assistance.
