ABOUT THE JOB
As a Meat Assistant, you will help prepare meat products for sale by using wrapping equipment, labeling items accurately, and ensuring display cases are stocked and organized. You’ll also assist with operating department equipment such as a meat grinder, rotating product for freshness, and completing daily tasks that support safe and consistent production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wrap and label meat products using a wrapping machine and apply accurate pricing labels.
- Stock and rotate product in display cases to maintain freshness and presentation.
- Inspect and reassemble sanitized equipment and prepare the work area for daily production.
- Move packaged meat from storage racks and load items into the wrapping process as needed.
- Operate a meat grinder, monitor batches, and follow department quality and consistency standards.
- Maintain strong food safety practices, including sanitation routines and temperature controls.
- Clean and sanitize work areas throughout the day to comply with health and safety requirements.
- Perform routine care and basic upkeep of machinery, tools, and department equipment.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service when assisting with department needs.
