Site Procurement Manager – Amazon, Brampton, ON

Amazon is hiring a Site Procurement Manager for a fulfillment centre in Brampton, ON. This full-time role manages everything the building buys that is not inventory for customers, from cleaning and food services to safety equipment and snow removal, and the suppliers that provide it. The employer is Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services, ULC, and the posting lists a base salary range of $59,300 to $99,100 CAD per year.

ABOUT THE JOB

According to Amazon’s posting, the Site Procurement Manager acts as the bridge between Amazon’s centralized Procurement team and the leadership of the building. The manager owns the site’s indirect procurement, including the management of third-party service providers, purchase orders and inventory, leads the reporting of supplier KPIs and metrics, and works with stakeholders to find areas that need improvement.

The role provides procurement leadership to the building’s leadership team to make the site more efficient. Amazon notes that the work takes place in a warehouse environment, with frequent walking and changing temperatures because of open dock doors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build expertise in non-inventory items and work with similar buildings to put best practices in place.
  • Build relationships across the network and train teams such as Operations, Loss Prevention, PXT (Amazon’s HR team), Transportation, Facilities Management and Safety on procurement processes.
  • Work with Finance and Procurement Operations to understand budget targets, set up ways to measure savings and value, and help manage budgets and blanket purchase orders.
  • Monitor supplier performance with tools such as supplier scorecards and audits, and work with the category teams to improve services like janitorial, food service, pest control, landscaping, snow removal, water coolers, personal protective equipment and waste management.
  • Make sure third-party suppliers comply with the site’s contracts and service terms, including SLA response times.
  • Track savings, build action plans to reach goals and reduce waste in procurement processes, and standardize best practices across the network.
  • Partner with Accounts Payable, suppliers and internal teams to resolve vendor payment issues quickly, and support procure-to-pay and local sourcing activities.
  • Support Amazon’s centralized procurement teams across areas such as procurement operations, category management, supplier diversity, supplier management and technology.
