ABOUT THE JOB
The Optical Student supports the daily operations of the optical department by assisting members with frame and lens selections, processing transactions, and maintaining department organization. Working under supervision where required, this role helps ensure that members receive accurate orders and a high level of professional service. The position also involves handling merchandise, maintaining inventory, and following established safety and operational procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members with selecting eyeglass frames and lens options, ensuring courteous and knowledgeable service.
- Process sales transactions, including cash, debit, credit, and cheque payments, following company procedures.
- Support the preparation and adjustment of eyewear under supervision, using department equipment as required.
- Maintain accurate records and enter orders using internal computer systems.
- Stock and organize optical merchandise and supplies, ensuring proper storage and presentation.
- Clean and maintain the department, including workstations and equipment, in accordance with safety standards.
- Assist in other warehouse areas when necessary to support overall operations.
