ABOUT THE JOB
As a General Merchandise Associate at Walmart, you will support the day-to-day operations of the general merchandise area by maintaining product presentation, assisting with stocking, and providing friendly customer service. You’ll help keep your assigned zone clean and well-organized, move feature items to their correct modular locations, and assist with store coverage as needed. This position also contributes to a safe workplace by following company policies and completing required safety processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and helping locate products.
- Maintain and zone assigned salesfloor areas to keep shelves organized and well-presented.
- Move feature merchandise to its modular home and support seasonal or promotional transitions.
- Recover merchandise from service areas and return products to the correct locations.
- Assist with stocking, downstocking, and picks as required to maintain availability.
- Help support front-end coverage when needed to maintain store flow.
- Coordinate with other associates to ensure consistent floor coverage and operational support.
- Follow safety and loss prevention practices, including completing safety logs and ensuring fixtures/displays are secure.
- Set and complete modulars (including flex modulars) and support new shelf cap setups when required.
- Escalate customer concerns appropriately and support issue resolution.
