ABOUT THE JOB
As a Cashier Assistant at Costco, you will help cashiers and members during the checkout process by packing orders, moving items, retrieving carts, and keeping the front-end area clean and organized. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys active work, teamwork, and providing a high level of member service in a busy warehouse setting. You will also assist with related operational tasks that help keep checkout lanes running smoothly and efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pack member orders into boxes and transfer items to carts or flatbeds for checkout.
- Assist members with loading purchases and responding to questions in a friendly and professional manner.
- Retrieve carts and flatbeds from parking areas and keep the entrance area clear and organized.
- Support cashiers by moving items, performing item runs, and helping maintain smooth lane operations.
- Keep the front-end area clean by handling spills, removing hazards, and maintaining general cleanliness.
- Help with department-related duties such as stocking supplies, returning products, and organizing paperwork.
- Operate equipment such as a cardboard baler or trash compactor when required and permitted.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service throughout the shift.
