ABOUT THE JOB
The Cake Decorator supports Costco’s bakery operations by frosting, finishing, and preparing cakes for display, sales stock, and special orders. You’ll use pastry bags, tips, and tools to apply decorations and writing, follow established production standards, and help maintain a clean and safe workspace. This role also includes packaging, basic food prep tasks, and providing friendly member service when needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Frost, fill, and finish cakes using a spatula and apply decorations with pastry bags and tips.
- Create borders, designs, and custom writing on cakes following Costco standards and formulas.
- Prepare cakes for stock and special orders, including reading order details and confirming customization.
- Slice and handle cakes safely using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Assemble and prepare cake boxes, package products, and move items to cooling/freezer/wrapping areas.
- Use bakery equipment safely (e.g., whipping cream machine) and follow department procedures.
- Prepare fresh fruit or toppings as required for finished bakery products.
- Keep the decorating area clean and organized, following safety and sanitation procedures.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service and assist with other bakery duties as needed.
- Support other warehouse areas when necessary.
