Costco is hiring a Tire Centre Sales Assistant at its warehouse in Edmonton, Alberta. This customer-facing role supports the Tire Centre by helping members choose the right tires, managing appointments and invoices, and keeping the sales floor organized while maintaining Costco’s high standards for service, safety, and accuracy.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Tire Centre Sales Assistant, you’ll assist members with tire purchases and service questions, prepare tire purchase and service invoices, and help keep tire inventory stocked, tagged, and organized. You may also support the daily operation of the Tire Centre by coordinating appointments, handling payments, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. In some locations, this role may include assisting with propane refills once properly certified.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members in determining tire needs, answering questions, and providing product recommendations.
- Use strong customer service and selling skills to support tire sales and service inquiries.
- Handle incoming calls, provide information, and support member requests (including quotes when applicable).
- Support the appointment process by organizing and booking Tire Centre appointments and responding to emails in a timely manner.
- Create and process invoices for tire purchases and installation/repair services.
- Tag and organize special orders and keep tire inventory efficient and accessible.
- Assist with staging tires for booked appointments and transfer tires to preset areas when needed.
- Ring up orders, process payments (cash, debit/credit, cheque), and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
- Calculate refunds for warranty returns when applicable, following established guidelines.
- Communicate with the Tire Centre team and relevant departments regarding special orders, quantity, delivery, and pricing updates.
- Maintain tire displays and keep steel stocked according to merchandising plans.
- Assist with member vehicle flow by driving vehicles into service bays and parking them after service (as required).
- Support general Tire Centre operations and help keep the area clean and safe (sweeping, mopping, wiping).
- May assist with propane refills/purchases after obtaining required certification, following all safety procedures.
