Costco is hiring a Pharmacy Student in Windsor, Ontario. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, this role provides support with prescription processing, medication preparation, and patient service while helping the pharmacy team deliver safe, accurate, and efficient care for members.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacy Student at Costco, you will assist with day-to-day pharmacy activities related to prescription distribution and patient support. You’ll help with tasks such as prescription entry, labeling, packaging, and workflow support, always following provincial regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
This position is ideal for students enrolled in an approved pharmacy program who want hands-on experience in a community pharmacy setting. You may also support health promotion initiatives and assist with medication review services under pharmacist supervision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the pharmacy team with prescription order entry and workflow coordination under pharmacist supervision.
- Assist with counting, labeling, and packaging medications while following pharmacy procedures and safety standards.
- Collect relevant patient information and help maintain accurate patient profiles and records.
- Provide prompt and courteous patient service at the counter and help retrieve prescriptions when appropriate.
- Answer and triage phone calls, directing members to the appropriate resources or product locations.
- Follow all Costco Pharmacy policies, including privacy and confidentiality requirements.
- Notify the pharmacist of concerns such as potential drug interactions or patient questions requiring professional review.
- Assist with tasks related to OTC products and member questions, referring to the pharmacist when needed.
- Help stock and organize prescription drugs, supplies, and OTC merchandise according to storage standards.
- Support health promotion activities and pharmacy initiatives as assigned by the pharmacist.
