Costco is hiring a Pharmacy Student in Surrey, BC. This role offers pharmacy students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy retail pharmacy environment, supporting prescription processing, member service, and health initiatives under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacy Student at Costco, you will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to assist with prescription preparation, data entry, packaging, and medication distribution. You will also support patient interactions, contribute to health promotion initiatives, and help maintain accurate pharmacy records.
This position allows pharmacy students to strengthen their clinical knowledge while developing strong customer service skills in a fast-paced retail setting. All duties are performed in accordance with provincial regulations and Costco pharmacy policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer and triage member phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Accurately enter prescription information into the pharmacy system under pharmacist supervision.
- Assist with prescription filling, labeling, and packaging while following safety protocols.
- Support the pharmacist by identifying potential drug interactions or patient concerns.
- Provide courteous assistance to members at the counter and process eligible transactions.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with provincial pharmacy standards.
- Help manage pharmacy inventory, including stocking medications and OTC products.
- Participate in medication reviews and support health promotion clinics as directed.
- Keep the pharmacy workspace clean, organized, and efficient.
- Assist in other warehouse areas as required.
