ABOUT THE JOB
The Pharmacy Assistant works closely with the pharmacist to support daily pharmacy operations, including assisting with prescription intake, data entry, inventory routines, and customer support. This position requires strong attention to detail, comfort working with pharmacy systems, and a consistent focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance. You’ll also help keep the pharmacy area organized and ensure customers receive professional and respectful service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive and process prescription requests, ensuring required information is complete and accurate.
- Perform pharmacy system tasks such as data entry, profile updates, and prescription prioritization under pharmacist direction.
- Support prescription preparation tasks under supervision, including counting/measuring, labelling, and organizing items for pharmacist checking.
- Follow accuracy routines and verification steps, including checks related to patient information and prescription details.
- Assist with inventory control, including stocking, rotating supplies, and checking for expired medications.
- Maintain an orderly workspace through housekeeping, organizing supplies, and cleaning equipment as required.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, invoicing support, reports, and other clerical duties assigned.
- Support over-the-counter operations when needed, including ordering, stocking, and cashier support as directed.
