ABOUT THE JOB
The Pharmacy Assistant works closely with the Pharmacist to support the technical and operational aspects of the pharmacy. Responsibilities include assisting with prescription preparation, managing patient information, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with provincial regulations and company procedures. This position plays an important role in delivering efficient service and maintaining a safe and organized pharmacy environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in receiving and processing prescriptions, ensuring completeness and accuracy of required information.
- Perform computer data entry, including patient profile updates, price checks, and prescription processing.
- Support the preparation and labeling of medications under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels, check for expired medications, and process returns when necessary.
- Organize and file prescriptions, invoices, and pharmacy documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy workspace in compliance with regulations.
- Assist with OTC operations, stocking shelves, and supporting customer service needs.
- Operate pharmacy equipment and handle administrative tasks as assigned.
