ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacy Assistant at Walmart in Brampton, you will assist the Pharmacist with technical and administrative tasks related to prescription filling and pharmacy operations. You will help manage patient information, support inventory processes, and maintain organized records while ensuring compliance with provincial and company standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive and review prescriptions, ensuring required patient and prescriber information is complete and accurate.
- Perform data entry, price checks, patient profile updates, and process written prescriptions in accordance with pharmacy guidelines.
- Support the prescription filling process under the supervision of the Pharmacist, including selecting products, counting/measuring medications, labeling, and organizing for verification.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels by ordering, receiving, checking in, and storing medications and pharmacy supplies.
- Monitor and remove expired medications, manage returns, and maintain organized pharmacy shelving.
- Keep the dispensary clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards, including cleaning equipment and workstations.
- Complete clerical and administrative tasks such as filing prescriptions, invoices, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with over-the-counter (OTC) operations and other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager.
