ABOUT THE JOB
As a Licensed Optician at Costco, you will support members by helping them choose the right eyewear and contact lenses based on their prescriptions and personal preferences. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members in selecting eyeglass frames, lenses, sunglasses, and contact lenses that match their prescriptions and preferences.
- Perform accurate optical measurements such as pupillary distance and lens height.
- Examine eyes using optical tools to support contact lens fitting and eye health assessment.
- Process orders and manage optical prescriptions using computerized systems.
- Dispense completed eyewear and ensure proper fit and adjustments for members.
- Handle payments and transactions while following cash handling procedures.
- Maintain department standards for inventory, merchandising, and product storage.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness and healthcare safety within the optical department.
- Support training or supervision of optical apprentices or students when required.
- Maintain professional licensing and remain compliant with provincial regulatory requirements.
