Costco is hiring an Optical Student in Windsor, Ontario. This role supports the optical department by helping members choose eyewear, processing orders, maintaining merchandise, and assisting with day-to-day department operations in a fast-paced retail environment.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Optical Student role at Costco is a customer-focused position within the warehouse optical department. You will assist members with selecting frames and lens options, support order processing, help prepare eyewear for pickup, and keep the department organized and clean. This position is well suited to candidates who are detail-oriented, service-driven, and interested in developing experience in optical retail and member service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members with choosing eyeglass frames and lens options while delivering friendly and professional service.
- Process orders and over-the-counter purchases, including handling payments, making change, and completing required paperwork accurately.
- Support optical operations under appropriate supervision, including helping with frame warming, adjustments, and basic customer pickup support where permitted.
- Order equipment, merchandise, and supplies, and enter information correctly into internal systems.
- Stock and organize department merchandise, production materials, records, and storage areas.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area by spraying, wiping, mopping, emptying trash, and supporting general department upkeep.
- Follow safety procedures, security practices, and department standards throughout the shift.
- Provide support in other warehouse areas as needed.
