ABOUT THE JOB
As an Optical Student at Costco, you will work under the supervision of licensed professionals to support daily optical operations. Responsibilities include assisting members with frame and lens selection, handling transactions, adjusting eyewear when permitted, and maintaining department standards. This role is ideal for students registered in an applicable optical program who are looking to gain practical experience while delivering excellent member service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members in selecting eyeglass frames and lens options while providing courteous service.
- Process transactions, including handling payments and completing paperwork accurately.
- Support eyewear fitting and minor adjustments under licensed supervision, where permitted.
- Order and manage equipment and supplies as required by department procedures.
- Stock and organize merchandise, ensuring displays are clean and presentable.
- Follow established safety and operational procedures within the Optical department.
- Maintain department cleanliness, including general cleaning tasks and waste disposal.
- Assist other warehouse areas when necessary.
