Costco is hiring a Member Service Assistant in Surrey, BC. This position plays a key role in delivering exceptional member service, verifying memberships, monitoring warehouse entry and exit points, and supporting daily safety and security procedures.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Member Service Assistant at Costco, you will welcome members, verify membership cards, and help maintain accurate entry counts. You will also conduct regular safety and security checks throughout the warehouse and surrounding areas to ensure a safe shopping environment.
This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to respond quickly to situations while maintaining a friendly and helpful attitude toward members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet members at the entrance, verify membership cards, and maintain accurate entry counts.
- Conduct hourly warehouse safety and security inspections, identifying and correcting hazards such as spills or blocked exits.
- Complete inspection forms and report findings to the duty manager.
- Monitor warehouse access points and observe delivery or armored transport activity.
- Check member receipts at exit and ensure accuracy of purchases.
- Assist members by directing them to products and service areas.
- Provide assistance with loading, cart retrieval, and general member inquiries.
- Drive the warehouse perimeter in a personal vehicle for security checks, when required.
- Report suspicious activity to management and follow established security procedures.
- Assist in other warehouse areas as necessary.
