ABOUT THE JOB
As a Meat Cutter at Costco, you will help prepare fresh meat products for sale using specialized tools and equipment. The position includes cutting and trimming meat to company specifications, supporting daily production, maintaining organized displays, and following all required safety, sanitation, and handling procedures. You will also contribute to a positive member experience through reliable service and careful product preparation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cut, trim, and prepare meat products according to Costco quality and presentation standards.
- Use department equipment such as saws, knives, grinders, slicers, tenderizing machines, and roast tying tools safely and correctly.
- Inspect, restock, and rotate products in display cases based on daily production needs.
- Receive, move, and organize meat inventory from coolers to preparation and display areas.
- Operate and monitor the meat grinder while checking for product consistency and proper function.
- Transfer prepared products to trays, carts, and display cases for merchandising.
- Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment throughout the day in compliance with health and sanitation standards.
- Perform routine maintenance for machinery, tools, and department equipment.
- Support additional department tasks, including wrapping, stocking, and assisting in other warehouse areas as needed.
- Provide courteous member service and maintain a professional, team-focused approach.
