Walmart is hiring a Meat Associate in Longueuil, Quebec. In this role, you will help keep the meat department fully stocked, organized, and customer-ready while following strict food safety and cold chain standards. You’ll support daily merchandising, product rotation, and customer service in a fast-paced retail setting.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Meat Associate supports the meat area by maintaining clean and well-presented displays, rotating inventory to ensure freshness, and ensuring products are properly labeled and priced. This position contributes to a positive customer experience by keeping the department organized and assisting shoppers with questions or requests.
You will follow established procedures related to temperature controls, safe food handling, and product rotation. Depending on store needs, the role may also include preparing certain items and supporting deli-related tasks while maintaining safety and hygiene standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and “zone” the meat department to keep it clean, organized, and customer-ready.
- Rotate stock and check for expired or damaged products to support freshness and quality.
- Ensure items are properly signed, priced, and labeled.
- Follow cold chain compliance procedures, including temperature recording and thermometer checks.
- Support ordering, markdowns, and inventory routines, including pricing and labeling processes.
- Assist customers with product questions and provide friendly service when requested.
- Prepare or handle select items using appropriate tools and safe practices when required.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following health and safety guidelines.
