Walmart is hiring a Meat Associate in Hamilton, Ontario. In this role, you’ll support daily operations in the meat department by ensuring products are properly stocked, presented, and handled safely while delivering great customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Meat Associate helps keep the meat department running smoothly by maintaining strong merchandising standards, supporting inventory rotation, and following essential food safety practices. This position involves working with department routines such as product handling, pricing and signage, and assisting customers with meat and deli-related needs while contributing to a clean and organized area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain proper department zoning and keep displays organized and customer-ready.
- Rotate inventory and monitor sell-by dates and expiration dates to support food quality standards.
- Ensure items are correctly signed, priced, and labelled according to store procedures.
- Follow standards for cold chain compliance, food handling, and required documentation.
- Support customer needs by taking orders and providing product assistance in meat/deli areas.
- Follow processes for ordering, markdowns, and signage, including adjustments when needed.
- Prepare food items as required using approved equipment and tools while maintaining sanitation.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines while working with equipment and food preparation tasks.
