ABOUT THE JOB
The Meat Assistant at Costco works within the meat department to ensure products are properly prepared and presented for members. The role includes packaging meat products using specialized equipment, stocking display cases, rotating inventory, and maintaining strict sanitation standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wrap and label meat products using an automatic wrapping machine and other department equipment.
- Stock and rotate products in refrigerated display cases to maintain freshness and presentation standards.
- Inspect and reassemble equipment prepared during the previous shift.
- Prepare and label packaged meat according to department specifications and pricing requirements.
- Load trays of packaged meat into wrapping machines and ensure proper labeling and packaging.
- Operate meat grinders and other department equipment while following safety procedures.
- Perform routine sanitation and cleaning throughout the department to meet health and food safety standards.
- Assist with minor equipment upkeep and routine maintenance of tools used in the department.
- Monitor product quality and consistency to ensure finished products meet company standards.
- Provide friendly and efficient member service when assisting customers.
- Assist other warehouse departments when additional support is required.
