ABOUT THE JOB
The Meat Assistant helps prepare meat products for sale by operating wrapping equipment, applying accurate labels, rotating product, and supporting daily production needs. You’ll also assist with department sanitation and may operate equipment such as a meat grinder under established procedures. This role requires following strict food safety and temperature standards while delivering professional service to Costco members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wrap and label meat products using an automatic wrapping machine and ensure labels match product type and price.
- Inspect and reassemble department equipment that was sanitized, and help prepare displays for daily production.
- Load packaged meat from wheeled racks onto the wrapping line and follow all safety and security procedures.
- Stock wrapped and labeled products into display cases while supporting proper product rotation.
- Operate the meat grinder as required and check each batch to support quality and consistency.
- Maintain clean work areas by completing regular sanitation tasks and monitoring proper temperatures.
- Perform routine maintenance for machinery, equipment, and department tools as assigned.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service throughout the day.
- Assist in other warehouse departments when needed.
