Costco is hiring a Maintenance Assistant in Windsor, Ontario. This role supports the facility by handling cleaning, general upkeep, basic maintenance tasks, and supply restocking to help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Maintenance Assistant position at Costco focuses on keeping the worksite clean, functional, and aligned with company standards. This role includes janitorial duties, equipment area upkeep, floor care, waste removal, and support with routine maintenance tasks both inside and outside the facility. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine cleaning and janitorial duties across work areas, restrooms, production spaces, and common areas.
- Clean floors and help maintain facility appearance through regular upkeep and spill response.
- Empty trash and operate trash and cardboard compactors safely and correctly.
- Follow all safety and security procedures while completing daily maintenance tasks.
- Support facility upkeep by changing light bulbs, washing windows, cleaning walls and ceilings, and vacuuming high areas when required.
- Assist with grounds maintenance, including outdoor cleanup, litter collection, seasonal support, and basic exterior upkeep.
- Help with minor repair and maintenance work, including painting and floor repair support where needed.
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and place merchandise or supply orders through the appropriate department.
- Provide courteous service when interacting with members, employees, and suppliers.
- Use internal maintenance systems and support inventory-related tasks as required.
- Assist in other areas of the lab or facility as needed.
