Costco is currently hiring a Maintenance Assistant to support daily operations at its Mississauga, Ontario location. This role plays a key part in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized environment by performing janitorial, facility upkeep, and basic maintenance tasks across different areas of the site.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Maintenance Assistant at Costco is responsible for ensuring that all work areas, common spaces, and operational zones meet company cleanliness and safety standards. This position supports facility operations through regular cleaning, waste management, minor repairs, and assistance with grounds maintenance while following established safety and security procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily cleaning and janitorial duties in offices, restrooms, break rooms, production areas, and other facility spaces.
- Operate and maintain trash and cardboard compactors, ensuring proper waste disposal.
- Respond promptly to spills and cleanliness issues to maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist with grounds maintenance, including litter removal, seasonal tasks, and basic outdoor upkeep.
- Carry out light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, cleaning fixtures, and washing windows and ceilings.
- Support inventory management by restocking cleaning supplies as needed.
- Follow all safety, security, and facility procedures at all times.
- Provide courteous assistance to employees, members, suppliers, and visitors when required.
