Costco is looking for a reliable Maintenance Assistant to support daily cleaning and upkeep in Gatineau, QC. This role helps maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized environment by performing janitorial duties, basic maintenance tasks, and assisting with site upkeep when needed.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Maintenance Assistant at Costco, you will help keep the facility in excellent condition by completing routine cleaning and maintenance activities across key work areas. You may operate cleaning equipment, handle waste and recycling processes, restock supplies, and respond quickly to spills or urgent cleaning needs. This position supports both safety standards and a positive experience for members and staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow a daily schedule to complete routine cleaning and sanitation tasks.
- Clean floors in offices, break rooms, restrooms, production areas, and other workspaces using cleaning equipment as required.
- Empty trash and recycling throughout the facility and operate trash/cardboard compactors.
- Respond quickly to spills and perform spot-cleaning to maintain safety.
- Perform regular cleaning of high-touch areas and periodic tasks such as windows, walls, and ceilings.
- Assist with grounds maintenance, including light outdoor cleanup and periodic inspections.
- Support seasonal tasks such as snow and ice removal when required.
- Help with minor upkeep tasks (may include basic repairs, painting, or simple floor touch-ups as assigned).
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and place items in the appropriate department when received.
- Follow all safety and security procedures and maintain high workplace standards.
- Provide courteous service to members, employees, and suppliers when needed.
- Assist in other areas of the facility as required.
