Costco is hiring a Loss Prevention Clerk in Mississauga, Ontario. In this role, you will help protect company assets by monitoring safety and security risks, identifying suspicious activity, and supporting investigations when required—while maintaining a professional presence and providing excellent member service.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Loss Prevention Clerk plays a key role in maintaining a safe and secure warehouse environment. You will conduct regular patrols, observe and document incidents, and collaborate with management on loss prevention efforts. This position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to follow applicable laws and Costco procedures when responding to theft, safety issues, or internal concerns.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct regular warehouse and perimeter patrols to monitor safety and security concerns.
- Observe, detect, and prevent theft, including identifying and addressing shoplifting activity.
- Detain and interview individuals when warranted, following company policy and applicable regulations.
- Report suspected internal dishonesty to management and support approved investigations.
- Identify and report potential shrink reduction opportunities to leadership.
- Prepare clear and accurate incident reports for internal documentation and possible prosecution.
- Maintain evidence and investigation files in accordance with procedures.
- Cooperate with local law enforcement and testify in court if required.
- Follow and maintain knowledge of Costco policies and relevant laws; attend meetings or training as needed.
- Support and educate warehouse staff on loss prevention practices and procedures.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed.
