ABOUT THE JOB
The Loss Prevention Clerk is responsible for helping safeguard Costco’s warehouse operations by identifying potential theft, safety risks, and security concerns. This position involves close collaboration with management and may include conducting investigations, preparing reports, and supporting internal loss prevention strategies in compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor the warehouse floor and perimeter to identify safety and security concerns.
- Observe, detect, and prevent theft involving members or employees.
- Conduct interviews and detentions when required and permitted.
- Document incidents by preparing detailed reports for internal use.
- Maintain and organize evidence and investigation files.
- Report suspected internal theft or dishonesty to management.
- Identify opportunities for shrink reduction and loss prevention improvements.
- Cooperate with local law enforcement and testify in court when necessary.
- Support and educate warehouse staff on loss prevention policies.
