ABOUT THE JOB
As a Licensed Optician / Contact Lens Practitioner, you will support members with selecting and ordering eyewear products, including frames, lenses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You’ll take precise measurements, assist with contact lens fitting under applicable regulations, and process orders using computerized systems. You may also support apprentices or students as part of daily operations, while maintaining high standards for accuracy, professionalism, and eye care cleanliness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members in selecting frames, lenses, sunglasses, and contact lenses based on prescription needs.
- Provide prompt and accurate member service and support members with optical questions within scope.
- Accurately measure members (e.g., pupillary distance) using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Support contact lens services, including assessing fit and providing guidance according to provincial regulations.
- Enter orders into the system, manage special orders with vendors, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Process payments and optical transactions following required procedures.
- Fit and adjust completed eyewear to ensure comfort and proper alignment.
- Maintain optical inventory, including contact lens trials, merchandise, and supplies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment by following sanitation and safety procedures.
- Support or oversee apprentices/students as required for certification and departmental needs.
- Assist in other warehouse areas as necessary.
