ABOUT THE JOB
The Department Clerk position at Sobeys supports the day-to-day operations of the bakery area within the store. This role includes assisting customers, preparing and handling bakery products, receiving and organizing orders, and helping maintain attractive product presentation throughout the department.
This position also involves supporting department workflows and helping oversee operations when needed. The role is well suited to someone who can work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment, follow food safety standards, and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide friendly customer service and assist shoppers with bakery-related needs.
- Support bakery production and product handling as part of daily department operations.
- Help with receiving, organizing, and completing bakery orders.
- Maintain merchandising standards and attractive product displays in the bakery department.
- Assist with department supervision and team support in the absence of the department manager.
- Follow sanitation, safety, and company operational standards at all times.
- Complete administrative and department support tasks as required.
