Walmart Canada is hiring a Deli Associate in Montreal, QC. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service in the deli department while supporting daily operations such as stock rotation, food preparation, and keeping the area clean, organized, and properly merchandised.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Deli Associate at Walmart, you will help maintain a well-run deli area by zoning the department, rotating products, and ensuring items are correctly signed and priced. You’ll follow required food safety processes, including cold chain compliance, temperature controls, and safe food handling. You may also prepare deli products, support customer orders, and assist other associates as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Zone and maintain the deli department to keep it organized and customer-ready.
- Rotate stock and monitor sell-by and expiration dates to reduce waste and maintain freshness.
- Ensure merchandise is properly signed and priced according to store standards.
- Follow cold chain procedures, thermometer calibration routines, and temperature recording requirements.
- Support deli merchandising by slicing, preparing, and stocking items such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken.
- Assist customers with deli requests and provide prompt, courteous customer service.
- Support front-end or other associates when needed, including helping with price checks.
- Prepare deli food orders using appropriate equipment and utensils, including preparing items for display.
- Keep the deli area clean and safe by removing debris, spills, and foreign objects, and maintaining sanitary conditions.
