Walmart Canada is hiring a Claims Associate in Montréal, QC. This role helps protect store assets by handling damaged and returned merchandise, coordinating vendor returns, and maintaining accurate processes that support a clean, safe, and efficient sales floor.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Claims associate, you will support inventory control by processing damaged, recalled, and returned items according to Walmart standards. You’ll work with vendor partners, manage documentation, and ensure merchandise is handled correctly to reduce shrink and minimize chargebacks. The role also includes maintaining a safe workspace, following proper disposal procedures, and supporting store programs that help keep operations running smoothly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support shrink prevention by scanning and processing damaged or stolen merchandise in a timely manner.
- Manage vendor-related tasks such as returns, recalls, paperwork, packing, and shipping while meeting deadlines.
- Handle special processes including SORT and Global Donation Merchandise where applicable.
- Maintain a clean and safe claims area, following proper chemical disposal and safety procedures.
- Monitor and track merchandise returned through claims to help reduce shrink and minimize chargebacks.
- Follow company policies for handling damaged and recalled merchandise, and stay current on required programs and systems.
- Ensure claims documentation is completed accurately, including forms required for older claims when applicable.
- Complete store programs such as GM CVP (Customer Value Program) as assigned.
- Provide support to other store functions (including office support or delivery-related teams) as needed.
