ABOUT THE JOB
The Cashier Assistant helps ensure a smooth checkout experience by packing items efficiently, transferring orders to a separate cart, retrieving carts, and supporting cashier needs. You’ll also help maintain cleanliness in the front-end area and follow all safety and security procedures while assisting members throughout their visit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet members and provide prompt, courteous member service at the front end.
- Pack member orders into boxes and transfer items to a separate cart or flatbed.
- Assist members with loading purchases and accommodate packing preferences when possible.
- Run for items such as merchandise, boxes, and register supplies as directed by cashiers.
- Help keep registers moving by supporting cashiers during busy periods and promotions.
- Maintain cleanliness of the register and front-end area, responding quickly to spills and hazards.
- Retrieve carts and flatbeds from the parking area and keep entrances clear and organized.
- Perform related duties such as returns support, paperwork collection, stocking supplies, and cleaning tasks.
- Operate equipment such as a trash compactor or cardboard baler when required and trained.
- Follow all Costco safety and security guidelines at all times.
