ABOUT THE JOB
As a Cashier Assistant, you’ll help create a smooth checkout experience by packing items carefully, assisting members with loading, and completing quick runs for products when requested. You’ll also support daily front-end operations by keeping the register area organized, handling cart and flatbed retrieval, and following all safety, security, and loss prevention procedures. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy staying active, working as part of a team, and providing helpful service to members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide friendly, efficient member service at the register, including answering questions and assisting with special promotions.
- Pack member orders into boxes and transfer items to a separate cart or flatbed as directed.
- Help members load orders onto the conveyor belt and into vehicles when appropriate.
- Perform quick item runs and merchandise support to help keep lines moving smoothly.
- Transfer items not on the belt to a separate cart or flatbed so cashiers can scan efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of the front-end area, including cleaning spills and removing trip hazards promptly.
- Retrieve carts and flatbeds from the parking area using approved procedures, including moving multiple carts safely.
- Assist with front-end tasks such as set-up/closing duties, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and returning products.
- Operate equipment such as a trash compactor and cardboard baler when required and trained.
- Follow all safety and security procedures, including checking packaging integrity when packing orders.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
