ABOUT THE JOB
As a Cake Decorator, you will frost, fill, decorate, and personalize cakes following established bakery standards. You’ll use pastry bags, tips, and other tools to create consistent designs, decorative borders, and custom writing. This position also includes preparing cakes for display and pickup, keeping the decorating area organized, and providing friendly member service in a fast-paced bakery environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Frost, fill, and finish cakes using a spatula and decorating tools to meet quality and consistency standards.
- Pipe borders, patterns, figures, and custom writing using pastry bags and tips.
- Prepare cakes for sale and special orders by boxing, labeling, and organizing products for display or pickup.
- Slice and portion cakes using appropriate tools and methods, ensuring clean presentation and safe handling.
- Review special order details to apply correct designs, colours, flavours, and personalized messages.
- Assist with basic bakery prep tasks such as preparing toppings, fruit, or whipped components when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work area by following sanitation and safety procedures.
- Support other bakery duties as required and provide prompt, courteous member service.
