Walmart Canada is hiring a Bakery Associate in Longueuil, Quebec. This role supports the day-to-day success of the Bakery Department by maintaining high standards for product quality, keeping shelves stocked, and delivering helpful customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Bakery Associate, you will help ensure Walmart’s bakery section is ready for customers throughout the day. Your work includes preparing and stocking bakery items, keeping products properly signed and priced, and maintaining clean and safe department standards.
This position requires attention to detail and a strong focus on food safety and handling procedures. You will follow store processes for product rotation, temperature controls, and sanitation to help deliver fresh, high-quality bakery merchandise to customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain the quality and appearance of bakery products such as breads, cakes, cookies, pies, and rolls.
- Keep the bakery area fully stocked and organized so merchandise is ready for customers.
- Ensure items are properly signed, priced, and labeled according to store standards.
- Follow food safety and safe handling procedures, including sanitation and cleaning routines.
- Support cold chain compliance tasks such as temperature checks, recording, and product rotation.
- Assist with department processes including ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, and signage updates.
- Prepare bakery merchandise by following appropriate thawing and baking guidelines to maintain quality.
- Help ensure displays, fixtures, and work areas remain safe, clean, and secure.
