ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacist at Costco, you will deliver professional pharmacy care by reviewing prescriptions, dispensing medications, counselling patients, and supporting health and wellness services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and apply the appropriate auxiliary labels.
- Review prescriptions and over-the-counter therapies for interactions, allergies, contraindications, dosage, and therapeutic suitability.
- Verify prescriptions and refills with prescribers when needed and manage verbal prescriptions in accordance with regulations.
- Provide patient counselling on medication usage, safety, and treatment expectations.
- Maintain confidential patient records and oversee medication histories and documentation.
- Administer medications by injection where permitted by provincial regulations.
- Conduct medication reviews and support follow-up care as permitted within scope of practice.
- Support health and wellness clinics and complete related documentation when applicable.
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals to resolve drug therapy issues and maintain workflow.
- Follow pharmacy procedures, safety standards, and continuing education requirements to remain in good standing.
