ABOUT THE JOB
As a Cake Decorator at Costco, you will prepare and decorate cakes for both sales floor inventory and special orders. The role includes frosting cakes, adding decorative finishes, writing messages, boxing products, and helping maintain bakery standards for quality, consistency, and cleanliness. You will work with bakery tools and equipment while following department procedures and food safety requirements in a fast-paced retail setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Frost and decorate cakes using spatulas, pastry bags, and decorating tips.
- Write messages and personalize cakes based on member requests and special orders.
- Prepare fillings, apply icing, and complete cakes according to Costco production standards.
- Slice, box, and label cakes for display, sale, or customer pickup.
- Read and follow order details to ensure accuracy in design, flavor, and presentation.
- Use bakery equipment and tools safely while maintaining clean and organized work areas.
- Support product movement to cooling, wrapping, or display areas as required.
- Provide courteous member service and assist with other bakery duties when needed.
