ABOUT THE JOB
The Registered Pharmacy Technician works closely with the pharmacist to help prepare and dispense prescriptions while ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations and safety procedures. This role involves assisting patients at the pharmacy counter, managing prescription documentation, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Team members also support inventory management, handle pharmacy transactions, and ensure medications and supplies are stocked appropriately. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and compliance with provincial pharmacy standards and confidentiality requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the pharmacist with filling and dispensing prescriptions in accordance with pharmacy regulations.
- Receive and process prescriptions while maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.
- Count, label, and package medications using appropriate pharmacy procedures.
- Assist patients at the pharmacy counter and provide professional customer service.
- Process pharmacy register transactions including payments and receipts.
- Maintain inventory by ordering, receiving, and stocking pharmaceutical products and supplies.
- Prepare prescription packaging and ensure proper labeling for medication safety.
- Verify prescription information and communicate with healthcare providers when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy work environment.
- Follow strict confidentiality, safety, and pharmacy compliance standards.
