ABOUT THE JOB
The Member Service Assistant at Costco plays an important role in delivering a positive experience for members visiting the warehouse. The position involves greeting members at the entrance, verifying membership cards, monitoring warehouse activity, and assisting members with directions and general support.
This role also contributes to safety and security operations by conducting routine checks around the warehouse, supporting loss prevention practices, and ensuring entrance and exit areas operate smoothly. The position requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome members entering the warehouse and verify membership cards at the entrance.
- Maintain accurate member entry counts using the warehouse counter system.
- Conduct regular warehouse safety and security checks around the facility and perimeter.
- Monitor entry and exit areas while keeping the front-of-warehouse area clean and organized.
- Provide friendly assistance by directing members to product locations or service areas.
- Review member receipts at the exit to ensure accurate merchandise verification.
- Observe warehouse activity and report safety hazards or suspicious activity to management.
- Support security procedures including monitoring armored transport activities when required.
- Assist members with general needs such as carts, directions, and loading assistance.
- Provide support in other warehouse areas when operational needs require assistance.
