ABOUT THE JOB
The Maintenance Assistant at Costco is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment throughout the warehouse and operational areas. This position supports janitorial services, routine maintenance activities, and general upkeep tasks required to keep the facility running efficiently.
Team members perform a variety of tasks including cleaning floors, maintaining restrooms, supporting equipment upkeep, and assisting with facility maintenance. The role may also include responding to maintenance needs, supporting seasonal outdoor work, and helping ensure safety and cleanliness standards are consistently met.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clean and maintain warehouse areas including offices, restrooms, and production spaces.
- Operate cleaning equipment and maintain floors to reduce dust and maintain safety standards.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and operate cardboard or waste compactors.
- Respond quickly to spills and cleaning needs to ensure a safe environment for employees and members.
- Perform facility maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and cleaning fixtures.
- Assist with grounds maintenance including litter removal, seasonal cleanup, and exterior upkeep.
- Support snow and ice removal during winter months when necessary.
- Assist with minor repairs and maintenance such as painting or basic floor repairs.
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels.
- Follow company safety procedures and operational standards at all times.
