ABOUT THE JOB
The Asset Protection Associate at Walmart plays an important role in store safety and loss prevention. Team members are responsible for monitoring store activity, conducting patrols, and ensuring security procedures are followed to protect people, merchandise, and company assets.
This position also involves supporting investigations, responding to incidents, and assisting store leadership in maintaining a safe environment for both employees and customers. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential for handling security-related situations effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct regular security patrols to ensure store doors, entrances, and showcases are secure and functioning properly.
- Monitor store activity to help prevent theft, fraud, and safety incidents.
- Investigate cases of financial or physical shrink and report findings to store leadership.
- Assist with investigations related to internal theft, organized retail crime, or dishonesty.
- Support emergency procedures such as evacuations during fire or other incidents.
- Work with store leadership and loss prevention teams to address security concerns.
- Communicate clearly with associates and leadership when incidents or concerns arise.
- Document incidents and ensure all actions follow Walmart policies and procedures.
- Participate in additional store safety or loss prevention tasks as required.
