ABOUT THE JOB
As a Cashier Assistant at Costco, you help ensure an efficient and friendly checkout process. You’ll pack and transfer items, support cashiers with quick product runs, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized front-end area.
This position is hands-on and customer-facing, requiring reliability, attention to detail, and a strong focus on safety. You may also assist with general front-end duties such as cart retrieval, restocking supplies, and helping during promotions to keep operations moving efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet members and support a positive checkout experience through prompt, courteous service.
- Pack and box member purchases and transfer items to a separate cart or flatbed as needed.
- Assist members with loading purchases into vehicles when appropriate and safe to do so.
- Perform quick product runs (merchandise, supplies, and other items) as requested by cashiers.
- Maintain cleanliness of the register area and front end, including cleaning spills and removing trip hazards immediately.
- Retrieve carts and flatbeds from the parking area and keep the entrance area clear and organized.
- Support front-end operations by restocking supplies, assisting with closing/opening tasks, and helping during promotions.
- Operate equipment such as a trash compactor/cardboard baler where assigned and trained.
- Follow all safety and security procedures and support other warehouse areas as needed.
