ABOUT THE JOB
As a Bakery Wrapper at Costco, you support the bakery team by finishing and packaging products for sale. This includes applying simple finishing steps (such as garnishes, drizzles, icing, or glaze), wrapping baked goods by hand or with equipment, and ensuring each item is labeled correctly.
You’ll also help keep displays stocked, rotate product to maintain freshness, and follow strict food safety, sanitation, and health code standards. Strong attention to detail and consistent execution are key to delivering the high-quality bakery experience Costco members expect.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Remove bakery items from containers and complete finishing steps such as garnishing, drizzling icing, or spraying glaze according to department procedures.
- Wrap and package baked goods by hand or using a wrapping machine to meet presentation standards.
- Assemble pre-cut cardboard boxes and packaging materials for bakery products.
- Weigh and label items accurately, and remove any damaged, defective, or incorrect products.
- Move product using bakery carts, large racks, or wheeled metal racks while maintaining safe handling practices.
- Stock and maintain the bakery sales area, rotate inventory, and monitor pull dates to ensure freshness.
- Provide friendly, prompt member service and direct members to products or service areas when needed.
- Maintain clean, safe work areas by keeping wrapping and sales spaces clear of debris and following safety and security procedures.
- Assist with other bakery duties as needed and support other warehouse areas when required.
