ABOUT THE JOB
The Baker at Costco is responsible for producing a wide range of fresh bakery products following company formulas and quality standards. This position involves preparing doughs and batters, operating bakery equipment, and ensuring all baked goods meet the company’s expectations for quality, consistency, and food safety.
Working in a high-volume bakery environment, the baker prepares ingredients, monitors ovens, and helps ensure that fresh products are ready for members throughout the day. Attention to detail, efficiency, and adherence to health and safety regulations are essential to succeed in this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare large batches of bakery products by measuring, mixing, and combining ingredients according to Costco formulas.
- Operate professional bakery equipment such as mixers, dough rollers, and preparation machines.
- Prepare doughs, batters, and fillings used in a variety of breads, pastries, and baked goods.
- Shape and portion dough for bakery items before transferring them to proofing or baking stages.
- Monitor ovens and baking times to ensure products are properly baked and consistent in quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and follow strict food safety and sanitation standards.
- Check product quality and ensure finished items meet Costco’s bakery standards.
- Provide friendly member service when interacting with customers in the bakery area.
- Support additional bakery operations and assist in other warehouse areas when required.
