ABOUT THE JOB
The General Merchandise Assistant Manager plays an important role in guiding store teams and supporting day-to-day operations. This role focuses on managing merchandise areas, maintaining operational standards, and helping the store achieve its sales and profitability goals.
Working closely with the store leadership team, the Assistant Manager helps coordinate operational plans, analyze sales performance, and ensure compliance with company procedures. The position also involves coaching associates, promoting excellent customer service, and maintaining a safe and efficient store environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support store leadership in managing daily retail operations and achieving sales objectives.
- Assist with merchandising strategies, inventory management, and store presentation.
- Analyze store reports and help implement performance improvement plans.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and training to associates and department managers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
- Respond proactively to operational issues and support loss prevention and security practices.
- Represent the store as a customer service leader, ensuring issues and feedback are addressed.
- Participate in community initiatives and support store engagement programs.
- Encourage associate development by identifying opportunities for training and career growth.
