ABOUT THE JOB
The Pharmacy Clerk plays a key role in supporting the licensed pharmacist and maintaining efficient pharmacy operations. This position involves assisting members with prescription pick-ups, handling transactions, organizing inventory, and maintaining accurate documentation using computerized systems. The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to provincial regulations, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members at the pharmacy counter, receive prescriptions, and support prescription pick-up processes with accurate transaction handling.
- Process payments including cash, debit, credit, and other approved methods while providing courteous member service.
- Support pharmacists by entering and updating patient information in compliance with provincial guidelines.
- Help prepare insurance claims, invoices, and accounting entries using pharmacy computer systems.
- Order, receive, and organize pharmaceutical products and supplies following inventory control procedures.
- Stock and merchandise over-the-counter products in accordance with department standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area, ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols.
- Provide assistance in other warehouse departments when required.
