Costco Wholesale Canada is hiring an Optical Student in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This position supports the Optical department by assisting members with eyewear selections, processing orders, and helping maintain a clean and organized workspace.
ABOUT THE JOB
As an Optical Student, you will work alongside licensed optical professionals to provide quality member service and support daily department operations. Responsibilities include assisting members with frame selection, processing transactions, fitting eyewear after pickup, and ensuring merchandise and supplies are properly stocked. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and adherence to safety and security procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members in selecting eyeglass frames and lens options while providing prompt and courteous service.
- Process orders and over-the-counter transactions following proper cash handling procedures.
- Fit and adjust eyeglasses under supervision, using approved tools and techniques when permitted by provincial regulations.
- Enter and manage order information accurately in the department’s computer system.
- Stock merchandise and optical supplies, maintaining organized displays and storage areas.
- Support daily production tasks and record keeping as required.
- Maintain department cleanliness by following established sanitation standards.
- Assist in other warehouse areas as necessary.
